Hey! So as you know I love the Backstage Pass series by the following authors: Ophelia London, Lisa Burstein, Rebekah L. Purdy, Suze Winegardener and Erin Butler. And Erin Butler had the awesome idea of putting together a list incorporating all the swoony and lovable moments from this series and creating a countdown list! I have been reading these again and again and I cannot get over the cuteness!
If you haven’t yet read these books and if you need a cute, romantic, funny and pleasant read, hit these up. Here is a Goodreads link. And here is the list of the 10 SWOOOONIEST MOMENTS WITH S2J!
“I don’t know if I’d call it a crush,” he finally said. “It’s more like, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about you for the past five days. When I’m in a band meeting…” He kissed her eyebrow. “When I’m onstage.” He kissed the bridge of her nose. “When I’m trying to bloody fall asleep at night, that’s the worst. And the best.”
“Hey. That was the first time you kissed me.”
She looked at him. “We’ve kissed, like, bunches of times.”
“No.” He touched his mouth to her ear, his hand at the back of her neck, burrowing under her curtain of hair. “That, right then, was the first time you kissed me…first…on your own.”
She tucked her chin again, but Miles held her face, needing to see her. “Please tell me what I did to deserve that, so I can do it a thousand more times.”
Ryder ran his finger along her cheek. His other hand slipped up her arm, bringing her closer. “Let me teach you for a change.”
Mia swallowed, afraid if she spoke, this might turn to dust.
Ryder opened his lips and brought them to hers slowly, hovering there, his breath fanning her face. “Don’t pucker. Just do what I do, what I cannot wait to do.”
He pressed her lips open slightly, driving his tongue against them and gliding it against hers until it was in her mouth, sliding against her tongue.
“You don’t have to be scared,” Ryder said, the muscles in his arms bulging as he pushed his hair back. She stared at the tribal tattoo wrapped around one bicep, black as the darkest reaches of outer space.
Mia’s mouth started to water and she realized she wasn’t only scared, she was hungry. She wanted to touch Ryder’s tattoo, taste the water and sweat on his skin. Regrettably, the hunger scared her, too. Mia spit-laughed to cover it up. “You think I’m scared of you? No way.”
“Then I guess I’ll change my pants right here,” Ryder replied, clearly calling her bluff. He moved his fingers to his belt buckle, and her heart seemed to fly up and beat from behind her eyes. He was taking her right to the edge.
She pretended cameras and crew didn’t surround her— strangers taping and watching their every move. Trevin lifted her chin, until she stared up into a pair of brown eyes. His gaze softened as he leaned forward. His lips brushed hers like butterfly wings on the breeze. Heat raced through her veins, while tingles erupted in her belly. His tongue parted her lips, and she tasted the hint of cinnamon on his mouth. She wrapped her arms around his neck as he pulled her closer. A spark flashed behind her eyes like fireworks exploding on a barge. He was so warm, inviting, and it felt so real. Too real.
“Cut!” Steve hollered.
Trevin pulled back, but didn’t release her. “Daisy.” He whispered her name like a promise for something more.
The warmth of his hand cupped the back of her neck as he urged her closer. His mouth pressed against hers, and she wrapped her arms around him, letting him kiss her. Heat spiraled out of control as her blood pounded in her ears. His lips parted hers and she caught the faint taste of mocha Frappuccino. She needed to stop this. Yet she didn’t back away; instead, she gave in. Gave in to the year of pentup emotions. To the longing she’d felt before everything happened. Her fingers wound into the hair at the nape of his neck. It was like they were picking back up where they’d left off during the video shoot.
When she’d wanted more, but was too scared to let herself enjoy it. His tongue teased hers, his palm sliding down her back, making small circling motions.
“Trevin.” She whispered his name as she caught his bottom lip between her teeth.
“Do you want me to stop?” His breath fanned against her neck.
Yes, she thought. But that wasn’t the word that came from her mouth. “No.”
He grabbed a handful of her hair and gently tugged her toward him. “No one’s ever said that to me before.” His gaze was on her mouth.
“What? That they want to kiss you?” She was being pulled closer and closer.
“Mmm-hmm,” was all he said before his lips touched hers.
She opened her mouth for him, but he pulled away slightly, gently stroking his bottom lip against hers. She could feel his breath in her mouth, and it felt like he was living inside her as she inhaled. Her whole body felt like it was vibrating in anticipation of his kiss.
On his left shoulder was a tattoo. An elaborate compass the size of her hand. But it was partially covered in some kind of waterproof makeup. Maybe he was embarrassed about it? It was beautiful. He was beautiful. He was hers. She kissed between his shoulder blades, and a groan rumbled through his chest. He turned and grabbed her in a bear hug, squeezing the life out of her.
“I don’t want to lose you,” he said against her hair. “Promise me I won’t lose you.”
“You won’t lose me,” she whispered back.
He closed his eyes. “You’re making this extremely hard.”
She licked her lips. Her mouth went dry as the words crowded on her tongue. She just had to sum up the courage to say it. “I think I’m trying to make it hard. At least this once.”
“This is dumb.”
He leaned toward her, and she stepped back until she bumped into the wall. He placed his palms on either side of her shoulders, capturing her between his intense gaze and the understanding that they shouldn’t be doing this.
Just when Abby thought his lips were going to meet hers, he glided his cheek along her own and placed a soft kiss next to her ear. His breath tickled her skin as shots of nerves and pleasure engulfed her
Nathan swallowed the gigantic lump in his throat and tilted his head. He slanted his mouth over Abby’s and met her soft lips. He kissed her gently, passionately, the only kiss an Otis Redding song would call for.
She melted into him, their bodies instinctively lining up. His heart hammered in his chest as he thanked all the other guys for hooking up with their girlfriends. If they hadn’t, he wouldn’t have been in this exact spot with this exact girl in this exact, wonderful moment.
Wow! If you haven’t read these books and you still read all that and didn’t think its cute, I don’t what is. Thank you so much to Erin Butler for going along with doing a post. And thank you for putting together this list!
